Breakfast was not supplied so we found a German cafe for coffee and buns (japanese style) then headed for early morning in the garden. It must have been a special day with no admission and we got there before the tourist crowds. I had read that it was worth a couple of hours there and we did enjoy it although we felt that Toowoomba's Japanese garden compared well. We then tried the Castle, stopping for some batter balls before wandering the extensive grounds. The gates to the castle were impressive. It has only been restored recently.
We took a rest in the Japanese garden then wandered through the Shrine opposite - another nice garden and a ceremony going on in the shrine, then along to the market where we got some food and apples. Heading back toward the river via the Samurai area, we found a nice park and childrens playground with blossom and stopped for lunch. We also found a couple of samurai houses to go into, then on to the river which we had seen the previous evening. Along the path more groups were picnicing under the blossom and we eventually got back to our place for a rest.
We then had the bright idea to take a ride on the JR bus. Walking into town we went down a back street and found a small hairdresser shop with a yellow Ducati in the window. We went in to say hello to the man inside where he had another black Ducati and a Honda and told him we had a BMW but like his bikes. The bus was not what we expected and headed out of town. We were enjoying the ride but after a while a couple of older ladies got concerned and asked a younger one to check where we were going. We were advised to get off when we stopped at a railway station. The next bus back was in an hour and we were advised to take the local train. Once back at Kanazawa station, we walked back to our place and found another interesting route.
That was our third long day in a row.
We went back to the same place for dinner in the evening.
