Nagiso to Hikone.

Breakfast was also in the main dining room with the scruffy people and it was a bit more European in style but we managed to get tea instead of instant coffee.
We then had time for some walking near Hanaya before our bus at 11.11 to Nagiso. There we stowed our bags in a locker for an hour or so and went for a walk, restocking with food at a supermarket and crossing a lovely wooden suspension bridge. We ate our lunch overlooking the big river then caught our local train changing at ? for an express to Nagoya. There we changed to a shinkansen to Maibara, then a local train to Nagiso arriving around 3pm.
It was a nice change to check into a hotel which smart uniformed girls at reception and a neat little ensuite room with fridge and nice view, several floors up.
We walked back through the station and into town toward the castle. It was nice in the evening and the cherry blossom was at a peak so there were plenty of people about. We got some more ? and took them back to our room for dinner.
We were able to get a blanket from reception, which came in a smart carry bag, and ordered bikes for the morning.
