Yamanobe-no-michi

We had some tea and apple in our room before heading out on our walk, the purpose of being at Miwa. The Omiwa Shrine was quite gloomy in the morning shade of the hill and they were just getting prepared for the day. We had the track to ourselves and found a stall with oranges at the next shrine. It was a most enjoyable walk and we passed odd people on our way. As the morning progressed we found a stall with green buns freshly made and stopped to eat them with our oranges. A large group of Japanese walkers overtook us and were in similar style to walking groups in Australia although quite a range of ages.
Towards Tenri the rain which had been threatening came down and we donned our wet gear for a while.
By 1 pm we were walking down into Tenri and through a large university complex with lovely buildings and flowers. In town we looked for lunch but the small place we went into had a smoker so we backed out then found a bakery and got some food which we took back to our place on the train.
After a good rest, we took a walk into Sakurai to get some more cash and reserve our seats for Kyoto to Narita, something I should have done when we first got our Rail Pass.
We caught the train back to Miwa.
We walked back in later to a nice fast food place for dinner.
Not all our walking was recorded and it must have been a great deal that day.
