Another lovely Japanese breakfast and farewell to our hosts who drove us to the station in their bus. It was a wet morning so we stowed our gear in the locker at the cafe and headed for the market under our umbrellas. It was a sodden scene so we decided we would have to vist the Jinja beside it. This turned out to be a most impressive complex and well presented
then we returned to the cafe and got bean buns before collecting our luggage for our train towards Nagoya. We changed at Mino ota where we sat in a local train waiting for it to depart, it was almost empty but odd people got on and off as we crossed to the line from Nagoya to Nagano. this took us to Nagiso where we had a short wait for our bus to Tsumago, arriving at Hanaya around 4pm. We had booked dinner here as well as breakfast and had a lovely little room in the older part of the inn.
Once again we had a pot of green tea and biscuits waiting for us in our room.
We were lucky that we were placed in the front dining room as the main one was full and noisy. There was just a single man at another table.
